TO THE POINT Mini Drawing Workshop
TECHNIQUES: HALOS in PEN & INK
Online ZOOM Art Workshop
Mondays, October 4 & 11 , 2021
Noon to 1:30pm MST
Pen and Ink
Advanced Beginner to Advanced level
Limited to 12 students
"Halos" can be one of those drawing challenges that keep coming back to haunt and taunt! Are they real or are they artistic license? They're both!
Using your technical and/or quill pens, learn when and how to use "halos" to enhance spatial quality and direction of light. Demos and class exercises help to distinguish the difference between "linear halos" and "value halos" and how to use them properly. You'll also discover the importance of and when to use "snodgrassing". Tips and tricks should provide the tools you need to feel more confident in your pen and ink practice.
THIS CLASS is for students who already have a good proficiency using Technical and/or Quill pens.
• Session 1: Discussion, demo and in-class exercises offer solutions to the drawing challenge
• In advance of Session 2, students work on a drawing challenge to practice new skills and email a photo before Session 2
• Session 2: Group critique, questions, demo and in-class exercises reinforce new skills and solutions to create a final line drawing.
